1 CONSULTATION ON COMMUNITY HUB PROPOSALS - BRIGG AND CROWLE – The Director: Learning, Skills and Culture submitted a report seeking approval to consult on proposals for Brigg and Crowle to create community hubs.

The council had completed investment in the Scunthorpe Central, Riddings and Baysgarth sites, creating integrated and high quality spaces for local communities. These community hubs provided vibrant community spaces, with a wide range of information, advice, leisure, health, wellbeing and lifelong learning opportunities being brought together around customers and service users. As well as making best use of the council's estate and workforce, the community hubs improved outcomes for people by:

- strengthening individual and community health and well-being
- enhancing resilience and connectivity within the community
- promoting literate communities
- providing access to cultural enrichment
- promoting community prosperity
- enabling progression into employment
- raising aspirations
- ensuring the vulnerable are supported and protected
- improving digital access

Opportunities were being assessed in Brigg and Crowle to similarly improve the customer and service user experience, whilst making efficient use of council assets.

The council wished to engage with residents on proposals to create community hubs within Brigg and Crowle. Separate consultations would run in each community using events, physical and digital media.

The report set out details of the proposals for each location.

Resolved - That the consultation for the community hub proposals for Brigg and Crowle be approved.
