Councillors Collinson, Poole and C Sherwood attended the meeting in accordance with the provisions of Procedure Rule 1.37 (b).

The panel met at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe.

429 MINUTES - Resolved - That the minutes of the proceedings of this panel held on 21 October 2014, having been printed and circulated amongst the members, be taken as read and correctly recorded and signed by the chairman.

430 PUBLIC REQUESTS TO SPEAK - There were no requests received.

431 CABINET MEMBER AND SERVICE AREA PRIORITIES - The Chairman welcomed Councillor Redfern to the meeting, the council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration. Councillor Redfern had been invited to the panel meeting to update members on any key decisions, important business or key developments, which had occurred during the last quarter. The Cabinet Member updated the panel on the reduction in Jobseekers Allowance claimants, the continued success of the Regional Growth Fund and the number of jobs it had created and the announcement of the new BAE Systems training academy at Humberside International Airport.

Following the update, the Chairman invited members to question the Cabinet Member for Regeneration.

Resolved - (a) That the oral update be noted, and (b) that the Cabinet Member for Regeneration be thanked for her attendance, presentation and for answering members' questions.

432 POLICE AND CRIME COMMISSIONER FOR HUMBERSIDE - The Chairman welcomed Mr Matthew Grove to the meeting, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside. Mr Grove had been invited to the meeting to discuss a number of social, criminal and strategic policing issues which directly affected North Lincolnshire.

Members questioned Mr Grove on the following –

Re-structure of Humberside Police;
Performance of the organisation;
Financial position of the Force;
Partnership working, particularly collaboration between Humberside Police and North Lincolnshire Council;
The protection of neighbourhood Policing;
Future of local neighbourhood Police stations;

Resolved - (a) That the Police and Crime Commissioner be thanked for his attendance and for answering members questions, and (b) that Mr Grove be invited to attend on an annual basis the council's Crime and Disorder Committee (Places Scrutiny Panel).

433 THE PROMOTION OF TOURISM IN NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE - The Chairman updated the Panel on the current developments
