To accept the Bus Grant funding from
Department for Transport totalling £2,908,248 for 2025/26 and
agree to submit the statutory required Delivery Plan outlining
expenditure for the BSIP funding in 2025/26.
To maintain a good public bus service in North
Lincolnshire to ensure accessibility and mobility for all
residents, supporting wellbeing, promoting environmental
sustainability, stimulating economic growth, enhancing road safety,
and building public trust.
Previous BSIP funds have been successful in piloting new routes and
providing an enhanced experience for users and has resulted in
turning the curve on bus patronage.
The Bus Grant will allow continue growth and development of the bus
network and infrastructure. There will be an improvement in the
experience for users and continued growth in bus
patronage.
There are no other options other than to
decline the Bus grant which will result in loss of investment in
the public transport infrastructure and network. Current services
would be lost resulting in negative consequences for users. It
would result in the discontinuation of some essential bus services
that many residents currently rely on. Additionally, it would
prevent the introduction of new bus services that could benefit the
community. This lack of investment would likely lead to increased
transportation challenges for residents, particularly those who
depend on public transport for their daily commutes, errands, and
other essential activities.
