Mayor's Remarks Minutes: The Mayor
welcomed everyone to the meeting especially new members elected at
the recent local by-elections in May. He informed the Council of
the recent sad death of former North Lincolnshire councillor Arthur
Bunyan and paid tribute to his years of dedicated public service
and on behalf of all councillors, expressed their thoughts for his

experiences and personal losses of many individuals throughout the
communities of North Lincolnshire during the current Covid19
pandemic. The council then observed a minute's silence in memory of
former North Lincolnshire councillor Arthur Bunyan and for those
North Lincolnshire residents who had tragically lost their lives to
Covid19. He said that it had been a great honour and privilege to represent North Lincolnshire as Mayor and had met many fantastic residents of North Lincolnshire during his year. He also thanked all those who had supported him throughout his year especially his wife and family, his chauffeur, his chaplain, his charity organisers, all officers of the council – especially mayoral services and also to the Mayor’s Cadets Tom Jackson-Sea Cadets (2019/20) and Adam Gouldthorpe-Sea Cadets (2020/21). Finally, he reported that approximately £36,842 had been raised for his charities as part of his appeal fund and expressed his best wishes to the newly elected mayor and deputy mayor for 2021/22.
