The Chairman welcomed all members from the Governance Scrutiny Panel and Places Scrutiny Panel to the inaugural joint meeting of the two panels, before informing all attendees of the background to the joint meeting and why it was necessary to scrutinise the council’s Neighbourhood Action Teams.

 

The Chairman invited the council’s Director: Governance and Communities and the Principal Officer – Safer Neighbourhoods, who attended the meeting, to brief the panel on –

 

Ø  the role of Neighbourhood Action Teams (NATs),

Ø  stakeholder involvement in NATs,

Ø  recent NAT successes,

Ø  challenges of NATs,

Ø  outcome of council officer review into the NATs,

Ø  NATs and the pandemic,

Ø  raising the profile of NATs

 

Following the verbal presentation, the Chairman facilitated a discussion between the Panel Members and the Director and Principal Officer on Neighbourhood Action Teams in North Lincolnshire.

 

Resolved – (a) That the council’s Director: Governance and Communities and the Principal Officer – Safer Neighbourhoods be thanked for their attendance, verbal presentation and for answering members questions; (b) that the Director: Governance and Communities collate and circulate the requested information to Panel Members, and (c) that a further joint meeting be convened as soon as was practicable.
