1        UK MUSEUM ACCREDITATION – The Director:  Communities submitted a report seeking approval to progress the renewal of the certification for Normanby Hall Country Park and North Lincolnshire Museum through the Arts Council England’s UK Museum Accreditation Scheme.

The UK Museum Accreditation Scheme was the UK industry standard for museums and galleries.  The scheme was managed by Arts Council England, and ensured that museums met an agreed standard in:

·       How they were run.

·       How they managed their collections.

·       How they engaged with their users.

The nationally agreed standards were designed to ensure all museums were sustainable, focused and trusted, inspiring the confidence of the public and funding and governing bodies.

An Award for Full Accreditation was valid for five years.

Currently, two sites in North Lincolnshire had previously been accredited; North Lincolnshire Museum and Normanby Hall Country Park. Both museums accreditation were due for renewal from 1 May 2025.

The report set out what should be demonstrated by each museum in order to achieve accreditation.

Resolved – That the submission of documentation for the renewal of the museum accreditation, as set out in the report, be approved.
