24 POST 16 SEND STUDENT TRANSPORT POLICY – The Director: Learning, Skills and Culture submitted a report seeking approval of the council’s post 16 Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) student transport policy.
The council had a statutory duty to enable the attendance of people of sixth form age to education or training, but students could be expected to pay all or part of the cost of transport.
For the academic year 2019/20 SEND students made a contribution of £30 to their transport with a replacement pass levy of £30, this was to be continued in 2020/21 for those eligible to receive support under the post 16 SEND student transport policy.
Resolved - That the post 16 SEND student transport policy be approved.
