Resolved - That Councillor Clark be and he is hereby appointed chairman for the meeting.

Councillor Clark thereupon took the chair.

There were no declaration of disclosable pecuniary interests or personal and personal and prejudicial interests.

The public are likely to be excluded from the meeting for consideration of the following item on the grounds that it involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

Resolved - That the public be excluded from the meeting for consideration of the following item (Minute 417 refers) on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended).

The committee considered an appeal against the outcome of their grievance from an employee of the Governance and Partnerships service. The appellant attended the meeting and made submissions and responded to members’ questions. The Local Authority representative also attended the meeting, making submissions and answering questions from the Committee.

Resolved - (a) That after reading all the documentation contained in the agenda bundle, and after listening to the verbal presentations by both the appellant and the local authority representative, the appeal be partially upheld, and; (b) that an Independent Investigation Manager be appointed, and a reinvestigation take place, and that this be conducted as quickly as possible.
