8      APPLICATION TO REGISTER LAND AT ASHBY AS A GREEN – The Director: Economy and Environment submitted a report seeking approval to add land at Ashby between Bottesford Beck and Lakeside Parkway to the register of town and village greens.

The application site was bounded by Lakeside Parkway to the north, Bottesford Beck to the south and Wisteria Way and Mulberry Gardens to the west. It covered an area of approximately 2.5 acres and surrounded Ashby Pond.

The council was the commons’ registration authority under the governing legislation, the Commons Act 2006. The land in question was owned exclusively by the council.

Resolved – That the proposal to add the land at Ashby to the register of town and village greens, as set out in the report, be approved.
