Minutes:

5        ASSETS OF COMMUNITY VALUE – LINCOLN IMP, GLOUCESTER AVENUE, SCUNTHORPE, NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE – The Director: Economy and Environment submitted a report seeking considering the nomination of The Lincoln Imp, Gloucester Avenue, Scunthorpe as an Asset of Community Value.

Local community groups and Town or Parish Councils could nominate buildings or land for listing by the council as an Asset of Community Value, under the Community Right To Bid initiative.

For a group to be able to nominate a property it would have to demonstrate that:

·       Its activities were wholly or partly concerned with the local authority area (or a neighbouring authority); and

·       It was a group that was qualified to make a nomination.

A property could be listed if it improved (or had recently improved) the community’s social well-being or social interest (which included cultural, sporting or recreational interests) and was likely to do so in the future.

The council had received a nomination from the Nominator, proposing that the property should be listed as an Asset of Community Value.

Resolved – That The Lincoln Imp public house and car park, Gloucester Avenue, Scunthorpe (as set out on the appendix to the report), be listed as an Asset of Community Value.
