32        PLAYING PITCH STRATEGY 2020-2025 – STAGE E UPDATE – The Director: Governance and Communities submitted a report seeking approval to publish the recently reviewed and updated North Lincolnshire Playing Pitch Strategy (PPS).

A Playing Pitch Strategy was a strategic assessment that provided an up to date analysis of supply and demand for playing pitches (grass and artificial) in the council area.

The current North Lincolnshire Playing Pitch Strategy was formally adopted in 2020 and covered the period until the end of 2025.  The PPS had been developed in accordance with Sport England methodology.

The PPS formed part of the council’s technical evidence base for the Local Plan preparation.

Stage E of Sport England’s Guidance for a PPS set out the expectation that an area PPS was reviewed on a regular basis to ensure the local assessment and recommendations aligned to the most current supply and demand information.

North Lincolnshire’s PPS Steering Group had recently undertaken the review process following Stage E England PPS methodology and an updated document was now completed.

The North Lincolnshire PPS Steering Group comprised of the National Governing Bodies of Sport, Sport England, Active Humber, Lincolnshire FA, North Lincolnshire Council, and the Football Foundation. 

The Stage E update document should be read alongside the full PPS, adopted by the council in 2020.

Resolved – That the Playing Pitch Strategy 2020-2025 – Stage E Update be approved and published alongside the North Lincolnshire Playing Pitch Strategy 2020-2025.
