Minutes:

The Chairman welcomed Jane Ellerton, Head of Strategic Commissioning, North Lincolnshire CCG, to the meeting.  The Chairman explained that Patient Transport Services had long been an area of interest to the Panel, and a general update had therefore been requested.

Jane submitted a paper and discussed the key elements of the service, including local performance.  It was noted that performance had improved since the service transferred to a new provider, and that temporary measures to progress discharge ahead of transportation during the pandemic had now ended.

Members discussed the service with Jane, asking questions about issues such as practical hospital discharge arrangements, eligibility criteria, and whether the CCG were content with the provider.  It was confirmed that the CCG were.

Resolved – (a) That Jane Ellerton be thanked for their attendance and for answering members’ questions, and (b) that the situation be noted.

Jane and Kirsty gave a detailed presentation on how social prescribing worked with the Primary Care Networks, how people were supported in the community, and how the service was helping local residents.

Members asked questions on the service, including the range of services that were available, governance and funding arrangements, referral patterns, and extending the service to include children and young people.  Jane and Kirsty answered with relevant information.
