North Lincolnshire Council - A Green Future

Discussion and questions with Councillor D Rose, Cabinet Member for Environment and Strategic Planning, Simon Green, Deputy Chief Executive of North Lincolnshire Council and Nolan Bennett, Programme Director – Strategic Projects

Minutes:

The Chairman welcomed Councillor Rose, Simon Green and Nolan Bennett to the meeting, the council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Strategic Planning, Deputy Chief Executive and Programme Director – Strategic Projects respectively.  Councillor Rose, Mr Green and Mr Bennett had been invited to the meeting to discuss with members the council’s ‘Green Future – Its plan for a positive change’.

 

Members listened as the Cabinet Member introduced a presentation that was delivered by the Programme Director – Strategic Projects, and focused on the following –

 

Ø The council’s ambition for North Lincolnshire’s environment.

Ø Net zero and sustainable energy

Ø Resources, waste and water management

Ø The natural environment: people and place

Ø Shared responsibility and a shared vision

 

Following the conclusion of the presentation, the Chairman facilitated a discussion between the Panel Members and Councillor Rose, Mr Green and Mr Bennett.

 

Resolved – That the North Lincolnshire Council – A Green Future initiative be unanimously supported; (b) that the Panel revisit the implementation and progress of the initiative in one years time, and (c) that the Cabinet Member for Environment and Strategic Planning, Deputy Chief Executive and Programme Director – Strategic Projects be thanked for their attendance, presentation and for answering members’ questions.
