Home First Community CQC Inspection Outcome 2022

Minutes:

1        HOME FIRST COMMUNITY CQC INSPECTION OUTCOME 2022 – The Director: Adults and Health submitted a report informing the Cabinet Member of the outcome of a recent inspection of Home First Community by the Care Quality Commission.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated and inspected health and care service providers in England to ensure they were safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

The council’s Home First Community service provided regulated support to people within their own homes for short periods of time to maximise people’s potential to be as independent as possible, supported to stay within their own home, and where possible reduce and or delay the need for long term care and support. The service was inspected in April 2022 by the CQC.

The overall quality rating provided by CQC following the inspection was good, with good being attributed to all five areas of inspection (safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led).

The report set out key highlights that had been identified by the CQC.

The CQC inspection provided assurance to the council that the service was providing quality support that was empowering and supporting people to be as independent as possible.  The regulatory outcome showed that the service and workforce clearly worked hard to ensure it was enabling, progressive and sustainable.

Resolved – (a) That the good outcome from the recent Care Quality Commission be noted, and (b) that the positive experiences and outcomes of North Lincolnshire residents supported and enabled by Home First Community, be recognised.
