7        PROCUREMENT OF INSURANCE SERVICES – The Director: Governance and Communities submitted a report seeking approval to commence the process to tender for the procurement of insurance services.

The council’s insurance programme aimed to provide protection to the council in respect of the main risks as follows:

·       Liability

·       Property

·       Motor

·       Crime

·       Personal Accident Cover

·       Engineering Inspection Contract

The council’s current insurance services contracts were due to end on 30 September 2022 and there were no extensions available.  In order to maintain the provision, the replacement contracts needed to commence on 1 October 2022.

Resolved –That the proposal to carry out a tender exercise to re-procure the council’s main insurance covers from 1 October 2022, for a period of up to five years, as set out in Option 3 of the report, be approved.
